These terms govern your use of glasgowtherapists.com ("the Site"), operated by Illuminated Thinking Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), registered in Scotland. By using the Site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. About the directory

Glasgow Therapists is an online directory connecting people with therapists, counsellors, psychologists, and wellness professionals in the Glasgow area. We provide a platform for practitioners to list their services and for visitors to find and contact practitioners.

We do not provide therapy, clinical advice, or clinical supervision. We are a directory service only. Any therapeutic relationship is formed directly between the visitor and the practitioner.

2. For directory visitors

2.1 Information only

Listings are provided for informational purposes. We do not guarantee the quality, qualifications, availability, or suitability of any listed practitioner. While we verify professional registrations where possible, you should independently verify a practitioner's credentials with the relevant professional body (such as the HCPC, BACP, UKCP, or COSCA) before engaging their services.

2.2 Not an emergency service

This directory is not an emergency or crisis service. If you are in immediate danger or experiencing a mental health crisis:

  • Call 999 for emergencies
  • Call NHS 24 on 111 for urgent health advice
  • Contact Samaritans on 116 123 (24 hours, free)
  • Contact Breathing Space on 0800 83 85 87 (Scotland-specific)

2.3 Enquiries and matching

When you submit an enquiry or use our "Post Your Need" service, your information is shared with our team for the purpose of connecting you with a suitable practitioner. We act as a facilitator only and are not a party to any agreement between you and a practitioner. See our Privacy Policy for details on how your data is handled.

2.4 No liability for practitioner services

We are not responsible for the conduct, competence, or services provided by any practitioner listed on the directory. Any disputes regarding services received should be raised directly with the practitioner and, where applicable, their professional regulatory body.

3. For listed practitioners

3.1 Eligibility

To list on Glasgow Therapists, you must:

  • Hold a valid professional registration or accreditation relevant to the services you advertise (where applicable).
  • Hold appropriate professional indemnity insurance for the services you provide.
  • Be based in or serve clients in the Glasgow area.
  • Provide accurate and current information in your profile.

3.2 Your responsibilities

As a listed practitioner, you are responsible for:

  • The accuracy and currency of your profile information, including credentials, fees, availability, and specialisms.
  • Responding to enquiries received through the directory in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintaining your professional registration and insurance throughout the period of your listing.
  • Complying with your professional body's code of ethics and conduct.
  • Complying with all applicable laws, including the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018, in respect of any personal data you receive through the directory.

3.3 Subscriptions and payment

  • Paid listings require an active subscription, billed monthly via Stripe.
  • All subscriptions include a 14-day free trial. You will not be charged during the trial period.
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • Complimentary listings may be offered at our discretion (for example, to practitioners renting rooms at our premises). Complimentary listings may be withdrawn with 30 days' notice.
  • We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods, except where required by law.

3.4 Removal of listings

We reserve the right to remove or suspend a listing at our discretion if:

  • The profile contains inaccurate, misleading, or fraudulent information.
  • The practitioner's professional registration lapses or is revoked.
  • We receive a substantiated complaint about the practitioner's conduct.
  • The practitioner breaches these terms.
  • The subscription payment fails and is not resolved within 14 days.

Where possible, we will notify you before removing a listing and give you an opportunity to address the issue.

4. Intellectual property

The site design, branding, code, and editorial content (excluding practitioner-submitted profiles) are copyright Illuminated Thinking Ltd. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without permission.

Practitioners retain ownership of their profile content (biography, photographs, etc.) and grant us a non-exclusive licence to display it on the directory for the duration of their listing.

5. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • We provide the directory "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
  • We are not liable for any loss, damage, or injury arising from your use of the directory or your interaction with any listed practitioner.
  • Our total liability to you in respect of any claim shall not exceed the amount you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

6. Indemnity

Listed practitioners agree to indemnify and hold harmless Illuminated Thinking Ltd, its directors, and employees from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from the practitioner's services, profile content, or breach of these terms.

7. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of Scotland and the United Kingdom. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. For practitioners with active listings, we will notify you of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Site constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
