Accessibility Statement

Last updated: 3 April 2026

Glasgow Therapists is committed to making our website accessible to as many people as possible, regardless of ability or technology. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standard.

What we do

  • Semantic HTML throughout the site, with proper heading hierarchy and landmark regions.
  • All interactive elements (links, buttons, form inputs, menus) are keyboard accessible.
  • Colour contrast ratios meet WCAG AA requirements for both normal and large text.
  • Meaningful images have descriptive alt text. Decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
  • All form inputs have associated labels and clear error messaging.
  • The site is fully responsive and usable at all screen sizes, from mobile to desktop.
  • Animations respect the prefers-reduced-motion setting. If you have motion sensitivity enabled in your operating system, animations are disabled.
  • ARIA attributes are used where necessary to enhance screen reader experience (navigation, dialogs, expandable sections).
  • Focus indicators are visible on all interactive elements.

Assistive technologies

The site has been tested with:

  • VoiceOver (macOS and iOS)
  • Keyboard-only navigation
  • Browser zoom up to 200%

Known limitations

We are continuously improving accessibility. Currently known limitations include:

  • Some dynamically loaded content (search results, therapist profiles loaded via JavaScript) may not be immediately announced by screen readers. We are working on improving ARIA live region support for these areas.
  • The compare therapists modal may have limited screen reader support. We recommend using individual profile pages for detailed comparison.
